Volunteering

HRPS started in 1997 with some people interested in Reno’s history — and we have been an all-volunteer group ever since. We exist and accomplish so much because of the commitment of more than 150 volunteers annually. There’s always room for more.

Home Tours

Volunteers are especially needed for events such as the Reno Harvest of Homes Tour every fall — greeting visitors, staffing houses, and keeping the day running.

Walking Tours

Welcome people at our summer walking tours, or train to become a tour leader and share Reno’s historic neighborhoods yourself.

Research & Special Skills

Write well-researched articles for FootPrints, advocate for preservation, or lend specific skills in public relations, law, finance, and more.

After more than 25 years, HRPS keeps expanding the scope of our work. We need volunteers more than ever. If you are ready to be involved, call us at 775-747-4478 or send us an email.
